The State unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for failing to fulfil promises made in the election manifesto.

“The TDP government did not meet the expectations of people even after completing 15 months in office. Be it the supply of essential commodities or providing basic amenities to people and ensuring transparency in the governance, the State government has failed in all aspects,” alleged AAP (Central) Andhra Pradesh coordinator Pothina Venkateswara Rao here on Friday.

He demanded that Mr. Naidu exert pressure on the Centre for Special Category Status (SCS) to A.P. People supported the TDP in last general elections hoping that Mr. Naidu would do justice to the State but all the expectations were dashed after the response of the Central government, he said.

Protest planned

He said the AAP had prepared a progress card of the TDP government and had given it 10 out of 100 marks. Mr. Rao said there were also plans to stage a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to press for SCS. “We will decide the date after discussing it with party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shortly,” he said, declaring that the six-day relay hunger strike undertaken by the party at One Town was called off.
