Minister warns eve-teasers of stern action

: Minister for Women and Child Welfare Peethala Sujatha said here on Thursday that cases under the Nirbhaya Act would be booked against those charged with harassing women who were travelling.

The Minister was speaking to reporters after opening the offices of Commissioner, Women and Child Welfare on the premises of Jampani Towers at Lodge Centre here.

Ms. Sujatha said the Ministry would take up a massive campaign to sensitise women on laws concerning their safety and security.

The Ministry would be more accessible to people of the State as the office was centrally located, she said.

The new office would be headed by Commissioner, Women and Child Welfare.
