People’s representatives, including Labour Minister K. Atchannaidu, MP K. Rammohan, MLA Gunda Lakshmi Devi, vowed to rededicate themselves for the development of State as well as backward Srikakulam district. They participated in Nava Nirmana Deeksha rally and other programmes in Srikakulam district.

They said that people of residual Andhra Pradesh were the victims of bifurcation and they hope that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would ensure overall progress of the State within no time. Mr. Atchannaidu alleged that Telangana was given undue favour as it got 58 per cent revenue for 42 per cent of the State population. He said that the State government was able to overcome financial constraints despite the revenue deficit of Rs.16,000 crore.

Ms. Lakshmi Devi said that Srikakulam was given Rs.28 crore during the last two years. She was hopeful that the constituency would get more funds in the next three years as the Chief Minister was paying special attention for development of the district.

Srikakulam Joint Collector Vivek Yadav, Srikakulam SP J. Brahma Reddy and others participated in the public meeting and rally. Earlier, they garlanded Potti Sriramulu statue at Old Bus Stand Junction.
