Land row: Officials get notices from SC/ST panel

The National SC/ST Commission, New Delhi, has issued notices to Principal Secretary, revenue, Special Chief Secretary, District Collector, Guntur, and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, to appear in person over a representation submitted by Yadavalli Weaker Section Land Colonisation Cooperative Society that the society has been cancelled and the lands extending to 416 acres registered in the names of 120 farmers have been forcibly taken away. Forum For Social Justice president K. Narayana Rao, who has taken up the cause on behalf of farmers, said that it was in 1975 that 416 acres of land was allotted to 120 farmers and since then, the farmers had been cultivating the land.
