Kurnool hospital to be upgraded on par with NIMS: Dy. CM

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy on Tuesday promised upgrade of Kurnool General Hospital on par with the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences at Hyderabad.

Speaking after inaugurating Kurnool Heart House built by Kurnool Heart Foundation (KHF) here, Mr. Krishnamurthy assured to direct the revenue authorities to identify around 150 to 200 acres of land in the city for the purpose. The hospital is catering to the needs of the patients from the Rayalaseema districts and Mahabubnagar district in Telangana.

Mr. Krishnamurthy stressed the need for doubling the budgetary outlay for medical and health. “A concerted drive such as free education up to Intermediate is also needed for health sector too, the Deputy CM said.
