: At the State-level jute convention on Friday, leaders of IFTU, CITU, AITUC, YSRTUC and INTUC, TUCC, and AICCTU decided to step up stir against the government’s inaction on ‘illegal lockout’ in over a dozen jute mills.
The meeting resolved to stage dharnas on August 17 at all Collectorates where jute mills are located, make representations to the Labour Minister, the Chief Secretary, the Principal Secretary and Commissioner (Labour) and chalk out the course of action to force the government to discuss jute mill lockouts in the State Assembly. The TU leaders also called for ‘Chalo Labour Minister’s Office’ in September.
