East Godavari Collector H. Arun Kumar has announced that 30,000 youth coming out from all the 400 and odd colleges in the district are going to get employment with the MoU between Vikasa and Adikavi Nannaya University (ANUR) that was entered here on Wednesday. He said Vikasa was a government agency that provided employment opportunities to youth in East Godavari and the Adikavi Nannaya University was one of the big universities in this region after the Andhra University.

Addressing a meeting after the MoU was signed, the Collector said Vikasa was established in 2010 and till now it had provided employment to 18,000 youth in private and to 200 youth in the government sector. He said the MoU would pave the way for the establishment of Human Resources Development Centres in all the selected colleges affiliated to the Nannaya University. “We will select the colleges from next week and these HRD Centres will work as a bridge between unemployed youth and Vikasa-ANUR,” the Collector said.

Nannaya University Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Mutyalu Naidu said he had asked the Collector to extend the services of Vikasa to West Godavari as the 30 to 40 per cent colleges are affiliated to the university were from that district. He added that they had identified 40 HRD centres and would finalise plans on how to develop these centres shortly.

In-charge Registrar Prof. K.S. Ramesh said the HRD Centres would start functioning from the university campus colleges and the list would be announced shortly. Prof. Venkateswara Rao, Prof. Teki and Prof. Suresh Varma and others participated.
