Devotional fervour pervade the temple town of Bhadrachalam on Friday with the ongoing Tiru Kalyana Brahmotsavalu reaching a feverish pitch.

Holy rituals, including Snapana Tirumanjanam, Ankurarpana and other events were performed by the priests at the historical Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine as a prelude to the mega religious event – Sri Sitarama Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam scheduled to be held on April 8.

Earlier, the temple priests performed special pujas on the banks of the Godavari and carried holy water to the temple. They performed Abishekam to the Utsav Idols of the temple deity amid chanting of Vedic hymns.

'Koti Talambralu'

Meanwhile, ardent devotees of Lord Sitarama from East Godavari district brought “Koti Talambralu” to the temple and handed over the holy talambralu to the temple authorities.

Several political leaders including some candidates belonging to various political parties in the fray for the ZPTC and MPTC elections offered special prayers at the temple on the concluding day of the electioneering for the first phase of the local body polls slated for April 6.
