Groupism mars bandh in Chittoor

August 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 29, 2016 06:10 pm IST - CHITTOOR:

Chinks in the YSRC party cadre came to the fore on Saturday with the party activists enforcing the State-wide bandh , in two groups, pitching in separate tents opposite to each other.

YSRC Chittoor coordinator and defeated MLA candidate Jangalapalle Srinivasulu, along with his supporters, came to the bus station area in the morning to enforce the bandh and found the Chittoor corporation in-charge M. Chandrasekhar and fourth division corporator C. Purushottam Reddy present there already.

The latter are said to have asked Mr. Srinivasulu to leave the place and used abusive language against him.

Later, Mr. Srinivasulu and the district Mahila wing president P.V. Gayatri Devi organised the bandh in separate groups in Janata Bazaar locality along with their supporters.

Both the groups visited localities and government offices one after the other to enforce the bandh.

Supporters of Mr. Srinivasulu alleged some party cadres tried to sabotage party interests in Chittoor under the influence of certain “vested interests.”

Reacting to the unsavoury developments, party district president and GD Nellore MLA K. Narayanaswamy said he would take steps to set right the internal differences between the two groups.

A youth leader, close to party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, said that the issue would be taken to the notice of the high command. “
