Maverick actor and founder of Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan on Saturday clarified that he would not take hasty steps and shoot off his mouth on grant of special status to Andhra Pradesh.

“Anything I say will only be in the form of a constructive suggestion when I come out with my thoughts on it. The Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party promised it in Parliament and it is up to them to honour it. In this endeavour it is for the elected representatives to work towards it. I will not adopt a confrontationist attitude,” he told presspersons at his office here. The star also utilised the occasion to convey his appreciation at ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu bagging a silver medal at the Rio Olympics. This was yet another example of woman power to the fore, he said.

Interestingly, he was speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of a luncheon meeting he had with the former Chief Minister of Karnataka H.D. Kumaraswamy. The latter spent almost two hours and 20 minutes closeted with the actor. After the meeting, both of them said there was no political significance to their meeting.

It is understood that Mr. Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumar had debuted with a film titled Jaguar in Karnataka. Considering their friendship, Mr. Kumaraswamy said he had come on behalf of his son to take the blessings of Mr. Pawan Kalyan and best wishes for the success of the film.

The former Chief Minister of Karnataka was also said to have discussed his son’s career moves as an actor, with Mr. Pawan Kalyan.

Earlier, Mr. Kumaraswamy flew in to the City of Pearls and after a while at a star hotel drove to Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s office for his luncheon meeting.
