YSRC MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and senior leader Anam Vijayakumar Reddy led the party cadres in a protest demonstration held at the Nellore rural mandal office near railway station here on Monday seeking a fair deal for farmers at the paddy purchase centres in the district.
A large number of YSRC activists and sympathisers from across the city and surrounding areas arrived at the venue and raised slogans in support of their demands.
Mr. Sridhar Reddy and other leaders submitted a memorandum to the officials demanding that all the arrangements be made at the paddy purchase centres to ensure that farmers get better price for their overall produce.
Irregularities were taking place in the distribution of pensions to the aged, widow and physically challenged persons, Mr. Sridhar Reddy alleged.
