Drowned student’s body retrieved

The body of Pamuru Gyaneswara Raju, 16, an Intermediate first year student in Vignan Junior College at Anantapur, who was among two persons who drowned when they went to swim in Handri Neeva main canal near Pathikonda bypass road, was retrieved on Thursday.

The body of Avadhanam Tejaswaroop, 17, an Intermediate second year student in Narayana Junior College at Nellore, came afloat in Handri Neeva canal near Peravali in Maddikera mandal on Wednesday evening. Maddikera sub-inspector Nazeer Ahmed retrieved the body with the help of local people and village servants.

The boys who came with their family members to Pathikonda to attend a marriage were swept away in Handri Neeva main canal when they went for a swim.
