An impartial inquiry will be conducted into the death of Malepadu Nandini and Chavva Manisha Reddy, Kurnool Range DIG B.V. Ramana Kumar said on Wednesday.

Proddatur DSP Neelam Poojitha and DSP of Kadapa SC/ST Cell L. Sudhakar were appointed inquiry officers in the case, the DIG told reporters at the Kadapa SP’s office. “The bodies had no injuries, and bruises can take place while lowering them or shifting them to hospital,” Mr. Ramana Kumar said. A letter purportedly written in blood by one of the deceased has been sent for DNA test, while the suicide note written by the other girl has been sent to the forensic laboratory, he added.

Any one having information about the deaths can call 94407 96935 and inform Proddatur DSP, the DIG said. he said the contents of the suicide note of a girl could not be revealed. When reporters pointed out that Rishiteswari’s dairies were made public and asked as to why the suicide note could not be revealed, Mr. Ramana Kumar said the same yardstick could not be applied in all cases.

“The girl wrote in the letter that the contents should be revealed only to her parents. The wish of the deceased has to be respected,” he said.
