CS, ACJ agree to solve judicial staff problems

July 07, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:27 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and Acting Chief Justice of the Hyderabad High Court, Justice Dilip Bhosale, are understood to have assured a delegation of judicial employees that the long-pending issue of creating 533 posts in various categories across the State would be cleared soon.

Late on Tuesday evening, the National General Secretary of the All India Judicial Employees’ Association, B. Lakshma Reddy and other office-bearers, first called on Mr. Sharma seeking his help in getting a file that was pending for the purpose with the Finance Secretary.

The Supreme Court had in 2009, on a petition filed by the association, given the nod for all positions in courts across different States to be sanctioned and created by the respective State governments in tune with the recommendations of the Justice Jagannath Shetty Commission.

Accordingly, the High Court requested for creation of posts across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.

A file sanctioning 533 posts in Telangana is now pending and when the delegation apprised the Chief Secretary of the matter, he is said to have spoken to a senior official of the Finance department who promised that the file would be soon placed before the Cabinet for approval.

Mr. Reddy said Mr. Sharma had also agreed to enhance wages for part-time workers in different courts.

Then Mr. Reddy, accompanied by the association’s State President K. Jagannadham and General Secretary V. Rajasekhar Reddy, called on the Acting Chief Justice.

Assurance

They conveyed their readiness to join duties in view of the Chief Justice of India, Justice T.S. Thakur’s assurance that he would write to the Union Law Minister on appointing an advisory board/committee to finalise the provisional allotment of judges to AP and Telangana.
