CPI (M) to support TRS in Warangal

April 16, 2014 09:58 pm | Updated May 26, 2016 09:34 am IST - WARANGAL:

The CPI (M) has decided to support TRS in the district, said Telangana State committee secretary T. Veerabhadram.

He said the district committees were given freedom to extend support to those political parties and independent candidates who are strongly opposed to Congress and BJP. In Warangal district, except in Warangal East Assembly constituency, the CPI (M) will extend support to TRS and in Wardhannapet Assembly constituency, the party will work for victory of Mahajana Socialist Party (MSP) leader Manda Krishna Madiga.

In Warangal East, the CPI (M) candidate M Srinivas is also in the fray and hence, the party would not extend support to any other party.

Mr Veerabhadram said the decision was taken after TRS president KCR had requested them to support his party. Since the CPI (M) was strongly opposed to both Congress and BJP, the decision was taken in the larger interest of people despite TRS proposal not being to their liking.
