Srikakulam District Congress Committee President Dola Jagan on Thursday asked the government to announce backward class status for Kapu community immediately. The Congress party organised a protest in Srikakulam demanding withdrawal of all cases filed against Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham. Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that the government was trying to terrorise the Kapu leaders and make them to keep quiet over the sensitive issue. He said TDP had come to power with several false promises including BC status for Kapu.
