‘Centre ready to grant SCS’

The Central government is ready to accord special category status to the State, BJYM State president S. Vishnuvardhan Reddy asserted on Tuesday.

The Modi government was adopting a positive outlook on SCS to the State and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was heading the State committee on the issue, had submitted a report to Niti Aayog, Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said in Kurnool.

However, non-submission of reports by some other Chief Ministers was cause for the delay in granting SCS, he added.
