Boath MLA G. Nagesh is likely to seek Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) nomination from Adilabad (ST) Parliamentary constituency instead of the ticket for Boath (ST) Assembly segment allocated to him in the list announced by the party on Friday. He is likely to meet TRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao in this regard soon.
TRS sources said Mr. Nagesh was nominated from Boath Assembly constituency instead of Adilabad Lok Sabha seat as the party was planning to allocate the Parliamentary constituency ticket to an NRI.
“This would prove counter-productive as he is a non-local,” the sources warned.
The list of names of party candidates was by-and-large on expected lines, but for Mancherial seat against which no name appeared. It was expected that the party nomination from this seat would be given to MLA N. Diwakar Rao, who recently crossed over into TRS from Congress.
All the sitting MLAs, Kaevti Sammaiah (Sirpur), Nallala Odelu (Chennur), Jogu Ramanna (Adilabad) and S. Venugopalachary (Mudhole) have been re-nominated.
Other candidates are Kova Laxmi from Asifabad (ST), Durgam Chinnaiah from Bellampally (SC), Rekha Sham Naik from Khanapur (ST) and K. Srihari Rao from Nirmal.
