M.S. Dhoni faces charges of hurting religious sentiments.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of India One-Day International and T20 cricket team, was issued summons by the Anantapur District Court on Monday in connection with a case filed against him on charges of hurting Hindu sentiments.

The Anantapur district court directed Mr. Dhoni to personally appear before it on November 7, while hearing a petition filed by Viswa Hindu Parishad.

In a petition, the VHP Anantapur district vice-president Yerraguntla Shyamsunder alleged that the Indian captain had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus by sporting an attire posing as Lord Vishnu in a magazine.
