A selfie that has cost him his life

A B.Tech. student Idrus Basha’s attempt to take a selfie before an approaching train on a railway bridge near Nerawada in Panyam mandal in Kurnool district on Wednesday, cost him his life.

Basha, 20, studying engineering in Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering and Technology at Nandyal, who went for a morning walk, planned to take a selfie on a railway bridge near Nerawada while a train was approaching, police said. As the train hit Basha, he was thrown on to a nearby heap of mud and died, they added.

On a complaint lodged by Nandyal Assistant Station Manager Suresh Reddy, Railway SI Narayana Yadav shifted the body to the Kurnool general hospital for post-mortem and registered a case.
