3 arrested on gang-rape charge

Police arrested three youths on Friday on charge of gang-raping a married woman at E. Thandrapadu in Kurnool mandal recently.

The terrified woman took shelter in a relative’s house and her husband lodged a complaint in the Kurnool Taluk police station that his wife was missing, Kurnool Superintendent of Police A. Ravikrishna told the media. The police traced the woman at a relative’s house and she revealed that she was subjected to gang-rape, he said.

Perpetrators exposed and shamed

Kurnool Taluk CI C. Maheswara Reddy and staff arrested the three — Telugu Balaraju, Telugu Dubbakrishna and Telugu Kumar — on charge of gang-rape, the SP said and produced them at a media conference in the District Police Office. A case was registered under Sections 376 and 506 IPC against them.
