16 TN loggers held in Kadapa

The Rajampeta sub-division police on Tuesday apprehended as many as 16 labourers from Tamil Nadu hired for felling the red sanders trees in the Seshachalam Hills Rajampeta division in Kadapa district. According to sources, acting on a tip-off, a special team of police formed by the Rajampeta DSP swung into action and took the labourers into custody when the latter alighted from a train at a railway station near Kodur. Equipment used for felling and dressing the wood were also seized. The police confirmed the arrests and said that further investigation was on.
