Over 60 differently-abled persons from Puducherry and neighbouring districts of Cuddalore and Villupuram attended a suyamvaram event organised by the Puducherry Differently Abled Association here on Sunday to find their soul mate.

G. Karthikeyan, president of the Association, said the main aim of organising a suyamvaram was to remove the stigma a differently-abled person lives with and help them find their life partner.

The participants interacted with others like them who had shown interest in their profiles and one of the participants from Puducherry chose her partner.

The marriage would be held shortly, he said.

A few other participants who attended the suyamvaram had shown interest in profiles and they would participate in another round of counselling, Mr. Karthikeyan said.
