People pay last respects to Ragesh Chandra

The body of Education Secretary and Senior IAS officer G. Ragesh Chandra was brought to his home in Navarkulam on Thursday. People from all walks of life turned up to pay homage.

Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy visited the family and expressed condolences.

Mr. Chandra died of heart attack on Wednesday while accompanying the Chief Minister to New Delhi for meeting the Union Ministers.

He was found dead in his room in the Puducherry Guest House in the capital.

The body was brought from New Delhi to his residence on Thursday morning at Navarkulam, Puducherry where Ministers, MLAs, government employees and other paid their respects. The body was airlifted from Puducherry to his hometown Kottayam where last rites would be performed on Friday.
