Narayanasamy top contender for Puducherry CM post

AICC general secretary and former Union Minister of State V. Narayanasamy is emerging as the top contender for the post of Chief Minister of Puducherry, party sources said.

The Congress high command has given its nod for convening a meeting of party MLAs to announce a formal decision. The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting is scheduled for Saturday to choose a person who would become CLP leader and subsequently, Chief Minister.

According to a release from PCC president A. Namassivayam, former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and party general secretary Mukul Wasnik would participate in the meeting as Central observers and hold consultations with newly elected MLAs.
