Member of Parliament R. Radhakrishnan has applauded the faculty of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) for their committed teaching and selfless efforts in bringing medical laurels to the country. He was addressing the first year MBBS students at JIPMER as part of the foundation course.
JIPMER started the foundation day for the first year MBBS students from July 1. This programme will comprehensively include communication and language skills, personality inputs, orientation to basic medico-legal aspects, interpersonal relationship, and team building to work in a multidisciplinary professional team.
Mr. Radhakrishnan also stressed that students should strive to make the best out of their careers and owe it to their teachers.
He said the society held this profession on high esteem once you qualify as a doctor. This was a unique advantage of studying MBBS. He added that it was the taxpayers’ money that funded quality education to them for which the students should be indebted and work for the betterment of the poor and weaker sections of society. JIPMER Director Subhash Chandra Parija and Foundation Course coordinator Kadambari were present.
