Man held for murdering wife in Puducherry

The Mettupalayam police on Tuesday arrested Arumugam (47) on charges of murdering his wife Mythili following a dispute. According to police, Arumugam, a mason of Amaidhi Nagar and Mythili were living separately after differences cropped between them. Arumugam who had returned from abroad a year back had brought a plot of land. Mythili had registered it in her name to secure their daughters future. Arumugam demanded his wife to transfer the plot in his name. On Monday he stabbed Mythili while she was returning after dropping their daughters in school and fled. The police nabbed Arumugam and remanded him to custody in the Kalapet Central Prison.
