Upping the ante against the ruling party, estranged Congress veteran and Rajya Sabha MP P.Kannan declared that he and his supporters "would not rest" until the N.Rangasamy-led Government was unseated.

Describing the Rangasamy Government as ‘jungle raj’, Mr. Kannan called upon a large crowd of his supporters to take a pledge to remove the "growingly unpopular" All India NR Congress Government.

Coming out of an extended recluse, Mr. Kannan on Thursday seemed to try and turn the protest platform into a show of strength by his supporters in the Congress.

“This is the beginning of our fight to oust the Government. The Rangasamy Government has committed several misdeeds. We will not rest until it is sent home,” Mr. Kannan said.
