NLC on Friday initiated a two-day seminar on ‘Best HR Practices’ to promote participants’ understanding of the evolving employee diversity at workplaces, ensuring legal compliance of the organisation and nuances of strategic management for achieving goals.
The event is co-hosted by the Neyveli chapter of the National Institute of Personnel Management.
Inaugurating the seminar at NLC’s Learning and Development Centre, S.K. Acharya, CMD, NLC, emphasised the importance of industries accepting and implementing change initiatives for its survival.
Human Resource professionals need to have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to not only adapt to change but also identify when it is needed and how to successfully leverage such opportunities.
“Unwillingness or inability to change over time can lead to a company’s downfall,” he said citing examples of companies which are not in the market as a result of their inability to adopt change.
HR experts from public sector enterprises including S.C Padhy, Director(HR), NALCO Bhubaneswar, V.M Chamola, Director (HR), HAL and P.C Panigrahi, former Director (HR), MCL , Bhubaneswar participated in the inaugural session and chaired various sessions on Day one.
Delegates from various organisations and institutes are presenting their research papers in different sessions, on various themes such as Compensation & Reward Management, Performance Management, Talent Management and Industrial Relations & Contract Labour Management.
Around 150 Executives of HR Department from various PSUs including NLC and the private sector and about 50 students studying post-graduation in HR and Business Administration from various Universities and Colleges are participating in the programme.
