The Congress legislator R.K.R. Ananantharaman has embarked on a mission to install closed circuit television cameras at important places in his Manaveli constituency.

He said by July this year all important junctions and institutions would be under camera surveillance.

A few days ago, six cameras were installed at Thavalakuppam junction. Another eight cameras would be installed soon at Nonankuppam beach and the Higher Secondary School.

In a release, he said cameras would also be installed at Purankuppam. The cameras are being installed with the support of like minded people, non-governmental organisations and own fund, he said.

He inaugurated the construction work of a fair price shop at Purnankuppam and a building for Rajiv Gandhi Arts College at Thavalakuppam.
