Did you know that the Railways was a part of the PWD when it started in India? Or that Frederick William Stevens, who built Victoria Terminus (now CST) was working with the British Colonial Government in India before he was loaned to the Great Indian Peninsular Railway (GIPR) — now the Central Railway — for designing a terminus for Bombay? To celebrate this wonderful work of architecture, CR is organising a heritage week between July 2 and July 8 coinciding with the dates when the structure was declared a heritage monument.

Prominent attractions include a Heritage Walk with conservation architect Vikas Dilawari as guide, an exhibition of rare manuscripts signed by F.W. Stevens including the original drawings for VT, and a quiz contest for school kids.
