“I was on the 1 pm to 4 pm and 8 pm to closing time shift on the fateful day. Keenan Santos and Reuben Fernandes and Avinash Solanki (aka Bali) were regular patrons I wish they had left when the match was midway . The next day I went back on duty, but business was almost shut. I took two days off from work . The third day when I returned to work my manager Bhaiji told me the owner had removed me from work. Although I had only worked for less than half the month, I was paid for the whole month.

A partner of the hotel called me up after a couple of days and said that I was becoming a hero as a local paper had written about the role I played in the whole incident. It was three to four months before I got another job.”
