Damania threatens to go to court

June 04, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 10:27 am IST - MUMBAI:

Anti-corruption activist and former AAP leader Anjali Damania on Friday continued her hunger strike demanding an inquiry into the allegations against Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse, even as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, post his visit to the national capital, ensured that the matter is being looked into by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

Along with 18 farmers from Jalgaon and social activists from around Maharashtra, including Dr. Vishwambhar Chaudhari, Ms. Damania was joined by economist Dr. Ramesh Jadhav, who had alleged recently that Khadse’s “personal aide” had demanded a Rs 30 crore bribe in a land allotment deal.

Amid growing concerns that Mr. Khadse could be let off the hook by being demoted to a smaller portfolio, Ms. Damania threatened to submit documents incriminating the tainted minister in court.
