A day after he demanded violent retribution against the accused in the Kopardi gangrape and murder of a minor Dalit girl, and demanded that the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act be scrapped, a complaint was lodged against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Tuesday by the Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangha in Jalna district.

The BBM, led by Prakash Ambedkar (grandson of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar), has stated in their complaint that Mr. Thackeray, in his statements made in Ahmednagar on Monday, had hurt the sentiments of the backward communities. They have urged the police to prosecute Mr. Thackeray under the SC and ST Act itself.

“Mr. Thackeray seems to have no respect for the Constitution in his grossly insensitive statements against the backward communities. We demand the police investigate his statements under the limits of this very Act,” read the BBM complaint.
