Workshop: Hindustani classical music

The workshop will be led by sitar player and educator Tushar Bhatia. An accomplished television presenter and composer, Bhatia has worked with music composers like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Vilayat Khan, Kishori Amonkar, Bhimsen Joshi and Dinkar Kaikini. The basics of Hindustani classical music, vocal exercises, and aspects of swara such as taal, laya, raags will be taught. Over the course of three months, an hour-long session will be held every Saturday. Registrations begin on July 20. Register at minjal.kadakia@gmail.com. Fee: Rs, 6,000.
