Tribesman stabbed for resisting hooch sale

A 47-year-old man from Vilangad Paniya settlement suffered serious stab injuries in an encounter with two other persons from the colony following a heated argument over the illicit sale of hooch. Prakasan, who suffered injuries on his rib, was admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital on Friday.

The police said they could not trace the accused who had fled from the colony after the incident. According to preliminary investigation, Prakasan was attacked for resisting illegal supply of liquor to some persons from the colony.
