As many as 3,213 candidates secured placement at a mega job fair organised by the District Employment Exchange with the cooperation of various job providers at the Government Arts and Science College, Meenchanda, on Saturday.
As per official records, the fair witnessed a huge turnout by job aspirants from various northern Kerala districts. Of the 7,286 candidates who attended the fair, 1,745 candidates also secured placement assurance from the employers.
Minister for Panchayats and Social Justice M.K. Muneer who inaugurated the fair said the initiative taken by the Labour Department for giving placements to unemployed youth was laudable. He said it would be come as a solace for several underprivileged segments of society.
