Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president V.M. Sudheeran has equated Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in causing hardship to the people.
Inaugurating a protest convention against the Central government policies organised by the Youth Congress here on Wednesday, Mr. Sudheeran said that the Prime Minister should step down if he had any sense of honour.
“Mr. Modi had said that the people could hang him if the economic turmoil did not end by December 31. Nothing has happened. No improvement in the situation. He should step down if he has any self-respect,” Mr. Sudheeran said.
He said the BJP government was following a policy of surrendering the country before corporate giants. “Mr. Modi is taking the country from Gandhism to Godseism,” he said, adding that there would be no Prime Minister in any country who was so ridiculed in his/her homeland as Mr. Modi.
