The Group Editor of Anandabazar Patrika (ABP), Aveek Sarkar, resigned on Wednesday. Anirban Chattopadhyay, who was in charge of the ABP’s editorial pages, has taken over as the new Editor of the Bengali daily, which has a circulation of about 1.5 million.
Mr. Sarkar’s resignation has surprised the media fraternity in Kolkata.
R. Rajagopal is the new Editor of the Kolkata-based English daily, The Telegraph .
