Accusing the AIADMK and the DMK of “unprecedented” cash distribution to voters, MDMK general secretary Vaiko, on Saturday, said the six parties of the DMDK-led front will continue to work together.
‘Long-drawn battle’
“You cannot vanquish the evil immediately. We know this is a long-drawn battle. Losing in such a war is expected. But we have decided to stick together and work to usher in a change,” he said, after meeting DMDK leader Vijayakant at his Koyambedu office along with VCK founder Thol. Tirumavalavan, TMC founder G.K. Vasan, CPI State secretary R. Mutharasan and CPI (M) State secretary G. Ramakrishnan.
Cash for votes
Mr. Vaiko alleged that cash was distributed in R.K. Nagar and Tiruvarur, the constituencies where AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa and DMK president M. Karunanidhi contested.
“The police and election officials did nothing to stop the cash distribution,” he claimed.
