We will form govt. without DMK, AIADMK: Vaiko

The coalition the Left parties are trying to stitch in Tamil Nadu received a major boost on Thursday with MDMK general secretary Vaiko openly declaring that the alliance will strive to form a government without the DMK and the AIADMK.

Speaking at a public meeting in Kovilpatti in Tuticorin district, in which leaders of the two Left parties, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi participated, Mr. Vaiko said the goal of the coalition would be to provide a corruption-free government without the AIADMK and the DMK.

The remark comes at a time when speculations about the DMK reaching out to Mr. Vaiko were rife in political circles in the backdrop of pro-prohibition protests the MDMK leader led a few weeks ago.
