To commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s return from the West to India in 1897, Sri Ramakrishna Mutt inaugurated Vivekananda Navaratri and Divine Book Fair on Saturday.

“During this victorious return, he stayed at Vivekananda House, for nine days from 6 to 14 February, 1897. At that time, he awakened India’s national and spiritual consciousness through his fiery lectures in Chennai. We hold this event every year at Vivekananda House to spread the message of this great saint,” said Swami Vimurtananda from RK Mutt.

The nine days will have various programmes, including dance, drama, debates, lectures, and discourses by monks and eminent personalities highlighting the messages of Swami Vivekananda for the younger generation. Books on nation building, spirituality, yoga, youth power, moral stories, personality development, published by the Mutt, will be displayed.
