TB test, treatment

The Rural Health Centre of Sri Ramachandra University at Vayalanallur in Tiruvallur district will organise a free tuberculosis check-up and treatment, according to a press release.

The initiative will be launched on May 27 and the centre will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Forty per cent of the population is known to have tuberculosis and 22 lakh new cases occur every year, the release said. The Centre will also have sputum test done free of cost for patients. People who get treatment at the centre can also avail free medicine.
