Student electrocuted

An engineering student got electrocuted inside his college premises in Padalam near Chengalpattu in Kancheepuram district on Saturday.

Police said Sivasubramani, a third year Mechanical Engineering student at Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering (SAACE), came into contact with a live wire while he was making arrangements for conducting a seminar.

While attending to the electrical circuit board, he accidentally came into contact with the wire and died on the spot, police said.

His body was sent to his native in Perambalur district on Sunday after a post-mortem at Chengalpattu Government Hospital.

A case has been registered at Padalam police station.
