Organs donated

The organs of a 38-year-old man were donated, helping save the lives of four persons.

According to a press release, S. Dinakaran, a government employee was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre on January 26 and diagnosed with a ganglio capsular bleed.

He was declared brain dead on February 4.

His liver was transplanted on to a 48-year-old businessman and one of the kidneys on to a 33-year-old woman.

The heart was given to Fortis Malar Hospital and the other kidney to CMC, Vellore. The corneas were retained at the hospital. —staff reporter
