The Southern Railway will not be cancelling the Mass Rapid Transit System services between Velachery and Chennai Beach on Sunday. The Southern Railway had earlier announced that 25 services on both directions were being cancelled to facilitate engineering works on the section. As UPSC examinations were being held on Sunday, the line block on this section was cancelled and all the MRTS services will be operated as per schedule on Sunday. Southern Railway release said: “As the Civil Services Preliminary Examination is being held on Sunday, cancelling the services would result in inconvenience to aspirants”.
