After months of speculation, the title and first poster of director Mani Ratnam’s next was unveiled across social media sites on Thursday morning.

Titled Kaatru Veliyidai, the movie stars Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles.

The official Facebook page of Madras Talkies, the production house, posted the photo and indicated that the filming of the movie had begun.

A few days ago, RJ Balaji had posted a selfie on Twitter with Mani Ratnam indicating that he was a part of the cast as well and was excited about the same.

The director’s favoured music composer, A.R. Rahman is on board the project as well.

While Ravi Varman will be cranking the camera for the project, Vairamuthu will be penning the lyrics.

Even as A.R. Rahman announced on his Facebook page that he would be collaborating with Mani Ratnam for the movie, excited movie buffs took to sharing their enthusiasm online about the upcoming film and their collaboration.

Mani Ratnam’s last outing, the 2015 release O Kadhal Kanmani starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nitya Menen had enjoyed a successful run at the box office. A Bollywood remake of this film titled ‘ Ok Jaanu’ , starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor and directed by Shaad Ali, is currently in the works.
