Experts from the Forensics Department reached the parcel siding at the Egmore station where the parcel vans were stationed and conducted their investigation. A ladder was placed next to the parcel van inside which the cash boxes were stacked, to help the experts climb on the roof of the van.
The gaping hole on the roof had edges that were coarse and sharp but big enough for an adult to enter without getting hurt, as it was demonstrated by a police constable to the investigators. For the forensic experts, picking up clues was a challenge as they have not worked on such a crime before.
