A diamond ring worth over Rs. 11 lakh is believed to have been stolen from a shop on the ground floor of Rani Seethai Hall on Anna Salai by three women posing as customers on Tuesday evening.

The shop management has handed over the CCTV footage of the women checking the rings to the police. Police said that the three approached the salesmen at the section selling diamonds and asked them to display the rings. However, they did not purchase any, even after checking all the models.

The theft came to light when the salesmen were checking the stock on Tuesday night. A complaint was lodged at the Thousand Lights Police Station. Investigation is on.
