Crackdown on ticketless MTC travellers

Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has intensified checking against ticketless travellers. In the past month, MTC collected close to Rs. 2 lakh in fines. During a series of checks conducted on Friday, 647 people were booked for ticketless travelling. A total of Rs. 1,04,450 was collected in fines. On the day, 185 employees of MTC were utilised to conduct checks at 84 locations across the city.
